Florida Concealed Carry

If you are concerned about your right to carry, please read the following. It is taking place in Florida, but you can still help! Keep in mind, when something like this happens in one state, the anti-gun crowd will undoubtedly try to do the same thing in your state!

When government takes money from citizens for general use by government, IT'S A TAX.

When government confiscates user fees from trust funds intended to be used to administer specific programs and converts it to government use for other purposes, IT'S A TAX.

When government leaders claim to oppose tax increases and promise not to create new taxes but then raid trust funds, they have deceived you because THEY HAVE CREATED A NEW TAX.

In a last minute sneak attack on gun owners, the Florida Legislature raided the concealed weapons and firearms licensing trust fund and CREATED A TAX ON THE EXERCISE OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT.

They took $6 million from the Division of Licensing Concealed Weapons and Firearm Trust Fund that is intended, by law, to be used solely for administering the concealed weapons and firearms licensing program. THAT IS A DEFACTO TAX ON GUN OWNERS

Whether you are a resident or non-resident holder of a Florida Concealed Weapons and Firearms License, this affects you!

Please Call, Fax, or Email Governor Charlie Crist IMMEDIATELY, and ask him to VETO THE SECOND AMENDMENT TAXcreated by the confiscation of $6 million from the Division of Licensing Trust Fund.

Americans Oppose New Gun Control

An ABC News-Washington Post poll conducted in April shows shrinking support for new gun control measures, and strong support for enforcing existing laws instead.

When asked to identify the best way to reduce gun violence, 61 percent said they favored stronger enforcement of existing laws, while only 27 percent opted for stronger laws. Forty-six percent said that gun laws should stay as they are, while 15 percent said they should be loosened.

These recent findings are consistent with similar findings that the NRA has reported for years. Bottom line: Most Americans get it. More gun control will only hinder the law-abiding.

NRA-ILA has always been on the right side of this issue. The thousands and thousands of gun laws already in existence are meaningless if they are not enforced. We already have gun laws on the books to address virtually every illegal act with a firearm.

As Frank Newport, editor-in-chief of the Gallup Poll, told reporters this week, "every bit of data is showing us that Americans are getting more conservative about gun control."

Hotel Indigo Fishers

The folks at Ballistic Technologies were kind enough to invite me to their range last weekend for some testing of their reactive targets. While in the Indianapolis area, I stayed at a hotel I had no prior experience with... Hotel Indigo!

I thought this hotel was fantastic. The rooms and lobby were great. Although I didn't eat at the restaurant, it looked like it was also very nice. The hotel employees were friendly and very eager to please!

Of course, it would be impossible to mention Hotel Indigo without mentioning Fibi, the in house dog! (It is my understanding that approx 50% of the Hotel Indigo Properties have an in house dog). There is NO DOUBT that Fibi is the Queen of the Castle! In fact, as I was checking email on one of their business center computers, I felt something hit my leg. It was Fibi slapping me with her toy. It was time to play, and she expected me to comply!

So, if you are going to be staying in the Indianapolis area, be sure to check out Hotel Indigo. And be sure to purchase a Fibi stuffed animal while there! Proceeds help support the local Humane Society.
