The following is a Facebook post from Crossbreed Holsters
that confirms the passing of the company founder, Mark Craighead.
“Friends of Crossbreed, it is with the greatest sadness that
we share with you that our extraordinary friend and Founder, Mark Craighead,
passed away this afternoon. We will continue his commitment to the values that
made his life count and that created the quality products that you count on.
He'd want you remember the Cross in Crossbreed. He always did.”
Without a doubt, this news is shocking to many people. I can
only imagine the impact this is having on his family. But, I think it is
important for them to know the impact Mark has had on others.
For a long time to come, we will read posts and stories
about how Mark started a company that makes great holsters. We all know that he created a great
product. But, I just wanted to take a
moment to tell you about how Mark impacted my life.
In 2006 I began to work full-time creating ArmsVault. At the time, no one in the firearm community
knew me or my site, and money was certainly scarce. To be quite honest, there
were several times I just didn’t know if I could pull it off. I don’t exactly
remember how it came about, but in late 2006 (11/27/06, to be exact), Mark
Craighead informed me that CrossBreed Holsters wished to become a supporter of
the ArmsVault site (CrossBreed was only the second company to take that plunge). If this hadn’t happened when it did, I’m not sure
that ArmsVault would be here today.
Since then, the ArmsVault Network has grown, as has our
relationship with CrossBreed Holsters. I realize that we aren’t the largest
organization they have supported, but that doesn’t change the level of our
gratitude. Had Mark not come along and taken a chance by supporting a start-up
website like ArmsVault, things would be very different now for me and my
family.
To Mark’s family… I am so sorry for your loss. Mark will be
missed by many. And I certainly won’t forget what he has done for me and my
family.

I have been a long time fan of CrossBreed holsters and have loved the values that they stand for. I am so sorry for the loss of Mark. Word's can't make things less painful, but be comforted that he is looking into the eyes of the Savior that he loved.
ReplyDeleteI was not a patron. I am a co-patriot.
ReplyDeleteI am similar in age and celebrate the desire of this man to build his business. I am sad he has passed. He has gone out of this life too early.
I hope the business carries on as I will seek to buy their products in his absence.
My condolences to Mark's family and friends.

I have many of Mark's finely crafted pieces. I also had the opportunity to speak to him a few times on the phone and he was a class act. Sad to hear of his passing. Hopefully the company will carry on in the manner Mark exhibited.
