Self Sealing Targets

This following is in response to a comment I received about the Self Sealing All Around Targets offered at 2A Gear.

are these actually being purchased by anybody in any significant quantity? They seem VERY expensive!

Response:
I know what you mean about the cost. That was the same reaction I had when I first starting using these polymer targets. The key is their durability. I didn't have a used All Around Target on hand (a buddy is using mine), but below are some pics of another type of target that is made out of the same material. The first picture shows the entry side. The second picture shows the exit side. You can see how well the material reseals. I THINK I was using a 9mm when I shot this particular target. I should also point out that the entry holes LOOK bigger than what they are because of the black burn marks.

Gilbert, AZ – September 29, 2008 – UniqueTek, Inc. introduced its ARIES Powder Ram™ powder compression die. The ARIES Powder Ram™ is used to compress the gunpowder in compressed powder loads before the bullet is seated, thus preventing bullet deformation and accuracy loss.

The primary advantage of the ARIES Powder Ram™ is that it provides a way to compress the gunpowder in the cartridge case prior to seating the bullet. This eliminates the traditional practice of using the bullet, and bullet seating die as a ram to compress the powder. By separating these steps, the risk of deforming the bullet is eliminated.

The ARIES Powder Ram™ is a standard 7/8-14 threaded die body enclosing a unique powder compression plug. The powder compression plug enters the case mouth and compresses the powder. An adjusting screw allows the amount of powder compression to be easily set. Once the powder has been compressed, bullet seating can be done without fear of pressing on the bullet so hard that it is deformed.

2008 Gun Rights Policy Conference

GSG-5 Rifle Parts
