Gun Sales Increase in California

Californians are buying more guns than ever.

Those who keep the statistics don't speculate on why the numbers are spiking, but to enthusiasts on the ground, it's clear. Times are tough, and the future is uncertain, leaving people looking for an extra layer of security, said gun sellers and experts in the field. November's election brought heightened fears of impending regulation, spurring some buyers to bite the bullet and make purchases they might otherwise have put off.

Gun Found in Anti-Gun Senator Donne Trotter's Carry-On Bag

Anti-Gun... Well... Not for Himself!

Have you ever thought to yourself that some politicians seem to have a double standard?  What do you think about an anti-gun state senator getting busted for trying to carry a handgun onto an airplane?  Oops!

Gun Found in Anti-Gun Senator Donne Trotter's Carry-On Bag

That is exactly what happened to Illinois state Senator Donne Trotter (D-Chicago). It seems that Mr Trotter was caught with an unloaded gun and a magazine with six rounds inside his carry-on bag as he passed through security at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.

Bob Costas Anti-Gun Response

As you have undoubtedly heard, during NFL coverage last Sunday, Bob Costas went on a rant about gun control. Based on his statements, there is little doubt in my mind that Bob Costas is not a Second AmendmentSupporter. There is also little doubt in my mind that when making these anti-gun comments, Bob Costas didn’t realize how offended the public would be with these comments.

It seems that USA Today attempted to interview Bob Costas about these comments, but Costas declined the interview.  Instead, an NBC spokesman made the following comments about Mr Costas that I think further clarifies the fact that Bob Costas is not a friend to the Second Amendment:

Bob Costas “is pro-sensible gun reform and pro-attitude adjustment on guns.”

Bob Costas is “in favor of people owning guns to hunt and carrying them in reasonably controlled circumstances.”

“Gun Reform”, “Pro-Attitude Adjustment on Guns”, “Controlled”…  So… Does this sound like someone who is a Second Amendment Supporter?

Bob Costas Gun Control

During halftime of last night's close Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game, NBC's Bob Costas exploited the Saturday murder by/suicide of Kansas City chiefs linebacker Javon Belcher to present a lame argument for so-called "gun control."

Brady Campaign Weakness

In an op-ed that ran this week on the left-wing Huffington Post web site, the Brady Campaign's Dan Gross tried to make the case that the NRA is a weak political force.

He based his claims on a study done by the Sunlight Foundation that measured money spent in the election against races won and lost.  Because the NRA spent money on important, highly contested races in which we could make a difference, rather than simply backing sure winners, the score NRA received was low.   However, in his effort to claim that this means the NRA is without real power or influence, Gross left out a few important facts.

Congress Moves to Stop Obama From Signing U.N. Arms Treaty

The United Nations is pushing gun control on a global scale, and President Obama is on board. Just a few hours after re-election was assured, the president’s representative cast a vote for the Arms Trade Treaty at a U.N. committee meeting. The loosely drafted agreement doesn’t go after guns directly, but the language enables activist judges to get creative in restricting Americans’ exercise of their Second Amendment rights. A final General Assembly decision on the treaty is expected in March, and House Republicans are locked and loaded to stop it.

New Gun Sales Record

What were Americans buying on Black Friday?... Guns!

A new single-day record for point-of-sale background checks was estimated on Black Friday, November 23, when 154,873 were conducted by the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). That total was nearly 20 percent more than the previous high of 129,166 set on Black Friday last year.

A Second Amendment loss in San Francisco

A Second Amendment loss in San Francisco…

San Francisco can require handgun owners to keep their weapons locked when stored at home and can ban bullets that expand or splinter on contact, a federal judge has ruled in rejecting a National RifleAssociation-backed effort to block enforcement of the local gun laws.

In denying an injunction sought by gun owners, U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg said Monday that neither city ordinance appeared to violate standards set by the U.S. Supreme Court in its 2008 ruling that declared a constitutional right to possess firearms at home for self-defense.

VCU Professor Shows More Guns Equals Less Crime

VCU Professor Shows More Guns Equals Less Crime

According to a recent study, gun violence in Virginia has fallen, despite an increase in gun sales.

The study was conducted by Virginia Commonwealth University professor, Thomas R. Baker.  In the study, he compared state crime data from 2006 through 2011. His analysis shows that although the number of gun purchases increased 73 percent from 2006 to 2011, gun related crimes fell 24 percent.

Baker, who specializes in research methods and criminology theory, said the comparison seems to contradict the premise that more guns lead to more crime in Virginia.

*The NRA is a single issue organization. The only issues on which they  evaluate candidates seeking elected office are gun-related issues.

Shooting at Gun Store

9/17/12 - Shooting at Gun Store - Don's Guns - Indianapolis

We have seen several  examples of what happens when someone opens fire in a gun free zone. The results are often the same. Victims are simply unable to do anything but run. And quite often, that isn’t enough to save them from injury or death.

But, what happens when someone opens fire in an environment that is not a gun free zone? That is exactly what happened at Don’s Guns, an Indianapolis gun store and shooting range.

Thank goodness the gun store employee was armed! If only someone would have been in the “gun-free” zones in which innocent victims have been killed.

Support the Second Amendment!
