Sotomayor and Second Amendment

The NRA has begun to express concern over Sotomayor's record on the Second Amendment. They are particularly concerned over her participation in the recent decision made in the case of Maloney v. Cuomo. In short, this decision implies that the Bill of Rights do not apply directly to the States. In other words, even though the recent District of Columbia v. Heller case confirms the right to bear arms, individual states may choose to ignore this.

Here is the scary part... if/when this case goes to the U.S. Supreme Court, Sotomayor (if confirmed) will play a major role in making the decision. We already know her opinion on this issue, and it does not favor the Second Amendment!

**IMPORTANT**

Do you have a hard time keeping up with various legislation and where various politicians stand on the Second Amendment? I sure do! BUT, there is one organization you can count on to do this... the NRA!

This is EXACTLY what the NRA does. This is EXACTLY what makes the NRA so important. And this is EXACTLY why we need to support the NRA. Imagine for a moment what would happen to our Second Amendment Rights if the NRA no longer existed!
