Gun Safety

With the weather improving, you will probably be spending more time handling your guns. Whether it be gun cleaning and maintenance, target practice, or hunting, don't forget to always keep gun safety in mind.

I am always amazed with the amount of shooters I see without their eye and ear protection. This is such an easy and inexpensive fix. iAmmo has a great selection of eye and ear protection.

As always, don't forget to practice the following gun safety rules:

1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

Also, if you are a parent, be sure your kids know what to do if they find a gun:

1. STOP!
2. Don't Touch.
3. Leave the Area.
4. Tell an Adult.

* I just quizzed my daughter on this, and it took every bit of 10 seconds!

The NRA has a great gun safety awareness program for children. You can find more info on the NRA Eddie Eagle page.
