Assault Weapons Ban

On Thursday, May 20, Mexican President Felipe Calderon stood before the United States Congress and called for a renewal of the Assault Weapons Ban. Calderon once again touted the discredited statistic that as many as 90% of the guns used in Mexican drug crimes come from the United States.

In response to Mr. Calderon, the NRA fired back. "The answer to Mexico's drug and violence problem does not lie in dismantling the Second Amendment; it lies in making sure that the Mexican government takes care of problems on their side of the border, " NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said.

These type of threats to our Second Amendment rights occur on a daily basis. If you are like me, it is impossible to keep up with all of them. But, I know that the NRA is there to keep track of and fight these threats. That is what they do! But, they can't do it unless we support them!
