As gun owners, we are all familiar with Fiocchi Ammo. Our friends at Lucky Gunner Ammo have just published a great interview with Carlo Fiocchi of Fiocchi Munizioni.
Within the first sentence of the interview, I couldn't help but laugh...
"The Godfather. The Sopranos. Pop culture’s presentation of Italian family businesses here in the US – particularly ones that somehow involve firearms - isn’t always flattering or glamorous. But is this presentation realistic?"
Yes... I'll admit... just seeing a box of Fiocchi Ammo with those big letters (FIOCCHI) printed on the side has always triggered a Godfather-like image in my mind. I'm willing to bet that some of you out there have the same perception.
During the interview, Mr Fiocchi gives a great overview of Fiocchi Ammo's Italian heritage, their focus on engineering, their long range planning, and their U.S. based operations. You may be surprised to learn that 75% of Fiocchi's ammo that is sold here in the U.S. is actually made here in the U.S..
As for the Godfather-like image I mentioned... Feel free to visit Lucky Gunner Ammo, read the Carlo Fiocchi Interview, and decide for yourself.
